Per Holly's request - I've typed up our family news from last night!

So, yesterday Stacie and I were talking on the phone and she had this brilliant idea for spicing up our family news and make the presentation efficient and entertaining. As people came they were giving a piece of paper and pencil to write down their family news. Then, after the inspiring lesson on Faith (given by Matthew) I (Judy) adorned in a pink feather boa and silver sequined hat delivered the news through a microphone (made from a tin foil covered whisk).

Here's the recap -
Grandma Cook and Bee bop: Going to St. George to be with Jim & Julie during the upcoming surgery (21st). They leave Monday and return Friday. G & G went through the Draper Temple open house with 3 generations of Binns people (Farrell and Joyce, M & J and their children)

Aunt Janice and Uncle Mike Smith have been called to serve as Mission President and Head Sister (what is the official title for the president's wife???? I've never even thought about that???? I know that in the temple the presidents wife is the "matron" - hmmmm??? - "Sister" is a lovely title and it works for me!!)

Stacie - is looking for a job. She's temping for Matthew, catering and Melanie Cook's mom's law office. Grandpa Pete is moving out of the white house on the 26th and will take up residence at the new Peterson home one block away. Stacie will stay on in the white house until it sells.

Kevin - loves his companion, was transferred this week. He enjoys drinking chocolate milk by sucking it through a chocolate cookie called a "tum tum" (there was some discussion last night on the correct name for this Australian delight - some same it's correctly referred to as a "Tim-Tam-Slam" - at any rate it sounds delicious and we're very glad that Kevin is able to enjoy his cookies and milk!)

Kory - Had a gymnastic meet yesterday. Last week he fell doing a handstand and endured a small concussion (sp?). What a tough guy!!!!

President & Sister Peterson - transfers this week. They will be home in 5 months (but who's counting?????????!!!!!!!!!) Yipeeeeeee!!!!!!!!! Onward Christian soldiers!!

Bryan & Nikki - Bryan is busy with work and serving in his new calling in the Elder's Q presidency. Nikki got a new calling today and will be teaching Relief Society (those lucky sisters). Lucas went to his 2-month appointment this week. He is 10 pounds and doing great. All who saw him last night will gladly testify to that fact.

Daniel & Melanie - are moving in with G-pa Pete in the new Peterson residence (formerly the Racine home). Daniel had an interview in NY for PA (physician's assistant) school and will have another interview in Henderson Nevada next month. (Good luck Daniel). Editors note: last night the beautiful and ever-so-fashionable Lydia was sporting an adorable pink and brown ensemble that corrodinated perfectly with her pink and brown animal skin print blankie & the pink "head flower". Her shirt said "Princess is my middle name" - truthfully stated!


Brittany reported that- Jim is doing very well. He able to go to hear Justin play in the all-county orchestra concert Saturday night (way to go Justin!!!!). Julie was going to come up to SL for a funeral of her best friends father-in-law, but had a strong impression that she needed to stay with Jim. She turned the car around and drove back home (she had already come half way to SL with Katie). Katie is doing great, she's adorable and sweet, as always. Josh and Kirby and good too (hurray for the newlyweds)! Clint and Brittany are busy and great too (so good to see them last night).

Andersons - Brent and Wendy leave this Tuesday for a 5-day Hawaiian vacation (business trip for the credit union). We gave them a warm "Aloha" (which means "hello" and "goodbye") and are anxiously awaiting their return with pineapple and chocolate covered macadamia nuts for all (J/K) Tyler was running a fever so he stayed home with his daddy. The beautiful, smart and talented Jessica was there last night with her radiant smile and a warm hug for all. She's doing great at Utah State!

Chris and Kartier - Chris graduated from the U in December (Go Utes!!). He wanted to remind everyone that the Ute's won the Sugar Bowl (Go Utes!!). They had a 13-0 perfect season (Go Utes!!) Kartier's brother (named Chris Anderson) returns from his mission (this week or next month?) Kartier has a new cell phone and therefor a new number: 554-1194.
Grandpa and Grandma Cook came to the restaurant where Kartier works (Geko's) and enjoyed their lunch with the Andersons last Saturday.

Binns- House is back up for sale. Julianne is a great 4.0 student at Hillcrest Jr. High. She eats books for breakfast, lunch and dinner (and snacks on them in between). Nathan is a Jazz player ... Jr. Jazz league, that is. His team is called the Nuggets. They try very hard! Nate is also one achievement away from earning his Bear award (cub scouts) and his religious square knot. Sam has mastered Lego Star Wars II on the game boy he got for Christmas.

We missed many of you, but we understand that things come up and states get in the way!
